Every year for a quarter of a century!

Lucia's story begins in 2000 - Generation Z that is - and if you've counted correctly, it's not only the 25th anniversary, but the "Lucia Christmas Market in the Kulturbrauerei" is also taking place for the 25th time (that's right, there was that darn year). But of course young and old, boomers and zoomers are all welcome - because there's something for all generations! The selection is varied, with Scandinavian specialties such as poronkäristys (reindeer stew) or vegan köttbullar, elk sausage or flamed salmon, raclette or homemade, vegetarian spinach dumplings. If you're in the mood for a sweet treat, try kanelbullar (Swedish cinnamon buns), Danish licorice, baked apples and, of course, roasted almonds. Plus Finnish Glögi, Danish Jule Gløgg, Icelandic Jolaglögg, Swedish punch, mulled wine, mead or grog (all available in non-alcoholic versions, of course!).

Not just bread alone...art, theater and festive songs!

Above all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas market, the angel BELLUZ with its impressive size of almost three meters hovers over the courtyards of the historic building ensemble of the Kulturbrauerei and sprays angel dust full of joie de vivre, heavenly protection and wisdom. If you feel like taking a break and chilling out, you can rest at the "Mantelheizung" art installation and warm up in a relaxed atmosphere. Time to think about whether you still need a small gift for your loved ones or something pretty for your Christmas decorations. So stroll around, get inspired by the numerous stalls with the finest arts and crafts and warm up every now and then by a flickering Swedish fire.

Meanwhile, the little ones and the young at heart take a spin on the nostalgic chain carousel, climb the star ladder or conquer the small knight's castle. And suddenly Santa Claus trudges across the courtyard to his throne to see if there is any mail for him in the wish box. THE opportunity for the little ones to quickly whisper a wish to him and show him whether they already have the Christmas carols and poems down for Christmas Eve. On the Advent weekends, there is a program for the whole family in the Alte Kantine, where parents and children alike can be enchanted. In the interactive fairy tales with lots of music, the children can actively help shape the stories, marvel, puzzle and of course sing along.

If you also like to sing and get into the Christmas spirit not only with traditional carols but also with pop songs, then the Choir Magic on the open-air stage in the Frannz winter beer garden on Thursdays is the right place for you - because cheerful singing along is definitely encouraged here!

Santa Lucia, how wonderful with light and hair - a Scandinavian Christmas tradition

A highlight of the Lucia Christmas market every year is the Lucia Festival. With a white robe, a red ribbon around her waist and a wreath of candles on her head, Santa Lucia, who gives the Christmas market its name, parades through the courtyards of the Kulturbrauerei in a festive procession together with the star children and celebrates the pre-Christmas tradition of singing traditional Scandinavian Christmas and folk songs together (Allsång).

The Flying Fairy Tale Orchestra is planning its Christmas party and invites all children to attend. But it shouldn't be just any Christmas party. No, it has to be perfect! But what does it actually involve? What makes the perfect Christmas party? A decorated tree? Presents? A succulent roast goose? Or can Christmas be celebrated in a completely different way? Together with the children, the world-famous Flying Fairy Tale Orchestra sets off on a search. They discover songs, customs and poems from other cultures and countries. And they all get in the mood for Christmas together. In the end, with the help of the children, the perfect Christmas show is brought to the stage. Isn't that what Christmas is all about? Helping each other and having a good time together?

The forgotten wish list
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, two Christmas elves are waiting for the children's wish lists. And wait, and wait...
Then a letter arrives with an unusual wish. Will the two excited elves be able to fulfill it? So completely out of practice? Perhaps it will only be possible with the help of someone very special. Let's see...
