Why are we celebrating Madonna?
Madonna has not only revolutionized pop culture, but has stood fearlessly alongside the LGBTQ+ community from the very beginning. With her boundary-pushing art, her fight against AIDS stigmatization and her unabashed celebration of sexual freedom, she became a timeless queer icon.

Since the 80s, Madonna has been breaking social taboos and pushing boundaries. During the devastating AIDS crisis, she used her global stage to raise awareness and fight against discrimination. Her documentary "Truth or Dare" (1991) showed openly gay dancers and drag - groundbreaking for the time.

With "Vogue" in 1990, she brought ballroom culture from the queer underground scene into the limelight. "Striking a Pose" became the universal language for self-empowerment and expression.
In videos, shows and albums such as "Erotica" and "Confessions on a Dance Floor", Madonna significantly shaped queer club culture, challenged gender norms and celebrated diverse identities.

Her enduring connection as Ally is particularly remarkable. While many artists come and go, she remains a steadfast advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and supports numerous queer organizations.
