Lynne Ramsay's latest unembellished look at the depths of the human psyche: a writer and young mother is writing a new book in her old, remote house. Her mental health is clearly suffering and her partner is forced to watch in despair as she increasingly loses her mind. Two uncompromising performances from Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, the likes of which we've never seen before, are boosted by a sensational ensemble cast.
