In the organizer's words:

July 1943, in the occupied Netherlands:
When a knock comes at the door on a mild summer's day, the two sisters Freddie (14) and Truus Oversteegen (16) are faced with a decision. Joining the resistance against the National Socialists means fighting fire with fire. Striking with violence to prevent the suffering of others.

But how far can you go to save lives? How humane can resistance be? And is there a good reason to take up arms yourself?

"There is good and bad.
And you have to fight against the bad

Based on the true story of three courageous young women and inspired by Wilma Geldorf's novel "Talking is Treason", "Staying Human" explores the meaning of humanity between war and violent resistance.
