Déla Otimi has been working as a trader at the Mikoko market for more than twenty years. She regularly complains to her husband Apollinaire, the mayor of the town, about the many structural defects. When he finally announces that the market is to be renovated, she and the Association des Commerçants du Marché de Mikoko (AC2M) are overjoyed. But the euphoria quickly fades when Déla discovers that Apollinaire is not planning to renovate the market, but to replace it with a shopping center...

Torn between her role as wife and activist, she desperately tries to persuade her husband to abandon his project. But as she encounters the indifference of those in power, she discovers that even among the market visitors, some are playing a double game...

MIKOKO means 'uprising' or 'rise up' in the local language.

The film premiered on March 8, 2025, International Women's Day, at the Bella Bellow Hall of the University of Lomé and was celebrated for its commitment to civil rights in general and women's rights in particular.

ANGELA AQUEREBURU RABATEL was born in Togo in 1977. She completed part of her education in her home country before continuing her studies in Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe, the birthplace of her mother.

After completing her Master's degree at the ESCP Business School in Paris, she worked in human resources for several years. With her husband, the actor Jean-Luc Rabatel, she moved back to Lomé in 2008, where they founded the audiovisual production company Yobo Studios and produced a number of series with Togolese actors. Their series OASIS (2019) was awarded the Audience Award at the Festival Vue d'Afrique 2018. In February 2025, Angela Aquereburu Rabatel was appointed General Director of the Société de Radiodiffusion et de Télévision du Bénin (SRTB) S.A.
