Together with the NANO Science Center and supported by Stiftung Berliner Leben, Gewobag is launching a new workshop format for children and young people who want to experiment, research and create at the URBAN NATION Museum from Sunday, September 7, 2025. "Mix it. Shake it. Spray it." combines creative art with scientific discovery - free of charge and in the heart of Berlin-Schöneberg. This new way of teaching art and science combines social participation and STEM education.
Workshop elements
At the heart of the workshop is a creative experiment: children and young people build their own DIY spray bottle using simple and harmless materials. A chemical reaction creates overpressure, which is used to spray a very special work of art with paint. Participants learn the scientific basics of chemistry and physics, as well as artistic techniques for mixing colors, layering and visual effects.
Art as a tool for education and empowerment
The format is part of the social education commitment of Gewobag and its Berliner Leben foundation. It is aimed at children aged 7 and over from the neighborhood and all of Berlin. The aim is to create low-threshold offers that strengthen creativity, knowledge and self-efficacy.
