From Mashhad in Iran to the international stage: Misagh Joolaee 's musical journey was characterized by extraordinary talent from an early age. At the age of just 13, he won first prize at the renowned Fajr Music Festival in Tehran after learning the Radif - the highly complex canonical repertoire of Persian classical music - at an impressive speed. His training on the violin and the knee violin kamanche with important Iranian master musicians combines technical brilliance with deeply rooted tradition. This path eventually led him to Germany, where he initially worked as a lecturer at the University of Hildesheim and has now established himself as a distinguished soloist and composer.

In 2021, Joolaee founded the Joolaee Trio, in which he explores new musical spaces together with the pianist Schaghajegh Nosrati, an internationally renowned Bach specialist, and the versatile percussionist Sebastian Flaig. Her debut album Morgenwind (2024), released by GWK Records, was immediately awarded the German Record Critics' Award - an accolade that Joolaee's solo albums have already received several times.

In Joolaee's work, cultures meet at eye level - beyond simplistic notions of "East and West". Instead of relying on superficial exoticism, he organically blends the clear order of European chamber music with the narrative freedom of Persian art music. His compositions open up like musical dialogues: personal, precise, deeply rooted in a centuries-old tradition and at the same time characterized by the experience of new beginnings.

For this concert, the renowned Iranian singer Golnar Shahyar joins the trio as a vocalist. With her remarkable vocal presence and improvisational depth, she opens up additional sonic layers and intensifies the dialog between the instruments.
