The spirituality and freedom of jazz
Johannes Enders and Ulrich Habersetzer present the music, life and work of John Coltrane. Having already played a key role in legendary recordings as a sideman with Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, he took jazz into new dimensions with his quartet in the 1960s. His innovative playing, in which he also incorporated African and oriental elements, continues to influence generations of jazz musicians to this day.
