1000 concerts in Germany - a major milestone and reason to celebrate for Musethica. To mark the occasion, the initiative is hosting a two-week chamber music festival in Berlin. A total of 22 concerts are on the program - four of which are open to the public and can be experienced with Free admission. The first week of the festival (25.10.-01.11.) will focus on repertoire for strings, while in the second week (02.-08.11.) piano sounds will also enrich the musical program.
The chamber music festival is part of Musethica's international training program.
Eight young musicians will receive intensive tuition from renowned mentors. Violinist Anna Gebert and pianist Dirk Mommertz will help shape the concert weeks as tutors and will rehearse and perform chamber music works together with young students.
The primary aim of the training method is to strengthen the performance practice of the music students. The musicians perform at venues far removed from classical concert halls and in front of audiences who usually have little or no contact with classical music - as most of the festival's concerts take place in social institutions. For example, a retirement home in Pankow, workshops for people with disabilities in Weißensee and Spandau, the Charité clinic for psychiatry and psychotherapy and the Berlin juvenile detention center will all become concert venues during these two weeks. The subsequent audience discussion, which is an integral part of the Musethica concerts, often opens up new perspectives for the musicians, both on individual works and on their impact and role as musicians - another important aspect of the Musethica method.
We cordially invite all interested parties to the public concerts. Admission is free of charge.
