Musik ist ein Wunder

In the "Music is a miracle" series initiated by the "Theaterschiff Potsdam", children and young people present their musical skills. They play benefit concerts in the French Church in Potsdam for the "Pusteblume" children's hospice in Burg im Spreewald. Minister Dr. Manja Schüle (MWfK Brandenburg) is the patron of the event series.

Following the successful opening concert by the "Julius Stern Institute" of the Berlin University of the Arts, which was celebrated with standing ovations, two further concerts will now take place in this series:
on 21.11.2025, at 5 pm, the municipal music school "Johann Sebastian Bach" Potsdam will perform the concert in the presence of Dr. Schüle, Mr. Wiegel, the alderman for education, culture and sport of the city of Potsdam and Ms. Kathrin Verzino, the head of the social marketing department, Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V., Regionalverband Südbrandenburg, as well as Ms. Bischler, the director of the Potsdam music school. The opening of the evening will be performed by "Heartbeat", the show dance group of the "Grundschule Niemegk" under the direction of Marlene Grundt.

On 29.11.2025, at 5 pm, the "Julius Stern Institute" of the UdK Berlin will perform a new concert in the presence of Stefan Lietz, the director of the institute. This concert will be presented by "rbb-Radio" ("Klassik bis zwei") presenter Jens Lehmann.

Free admission to both concerts, but a donation in aid of the children's hospice is requested (€20-25 recommended).

The selection of composers and young musicians will be published in good time on WWW.THEATERSCHIFF-POTSDAM.DE.

The concerts will be held under the banner of "togetherness", "togetherness" and "diversity".

Background information
The "Theaterschiff" Potsdam, under the artistic direction of Martina König, has been successfully collaborating with first-class performers of classical music, world music and new music for three years now, taking them ashore to the "Französische Kirche Potsdam". Before the great masters can show off their breathtaking skills in the way they regularly do at the concerts in the Französische Kirche, they have a long learning curve behind them, which usually begins in early childhood. Even before the children and young people begin their studies, they produce highly professional, moving works which, thanks to the joy, dedication and skill of these young people, radiate a very special fascination that can only be triggered by them to this extent.
