neanderland WANDERWOCHE 2026: Zwischen Landsberg und Linnep – Schlossgeschichten rund um das Oberschlesische Landesmuseum

The Upper Silesian State Museum represents a region with a rich castle landscape. There are also two examples of castle buildings around the museum in Ratingen: Landsberg Castle and Linnep Castle. Landsberg Castle and Linnep Castle are explored from the outside on a guided walking tour. After the tour, a short illustrated lecture awaits you in the museum, presenting exciting stories and background information on the numerous castles of Upper Silesia.

The route covers approx. 12 km and takes about 3 hours. The short talk in the museum lasts approx. 30 minutes. The hike leads along easily accessible forest paths with some slight inclines. Sturdy footwear is recommended. The trail is not barrier-free.

The neanderland WANDERWOCHE is a multi-day hiking event in the district of Mettmann in North Rhine-Westphalia. At this event, hiking enthusiasts can explore various paths and themed routes together with experienced hiking guides. It takes place every two years. In 2026, the event will take place from April 18 to 26. During the hiking week, numerous guided tours with different levels of difficulty and themes are offered, including family and pleasure hikes, herbal and mindfulness tours as well as more challenging routes. Opening parties, joint activities and regional specialties are often included. The event is aimed at all age groups and attracts participants from both the region and further afield who want to experience the nature, landscape and cultural features of the Neandertal.
