Cinema or museum? Both! Once a month, the Upper Silesian Museum invites you to this special combination of film screening and subsequent discussion. Carefully selected films are shown to encourage an exchange of ideas.

Film discussion group in May:
Vor Zeit/Przedczas (Director: Juliane Henrich). Film screening followed by a discussion. The director will be present. Documentary film, D 2021, 80 min.

A woman travels to a Polish village. In the role of the director's alter ego, she searches for personal and historical traces. The film accompanies her through the summer landscape and shows her encounters with people of German and Polish origin who had to leave their homeland after the war or who remained in the region. Fictional and documentary elements are interwoven, blurring the line between reality and fantasy. The search for clues, which initially began as family tree research, develops into a multi-layered migration story that reaches back to the time of the dinosaurs.

The film was shown at DOK Leipzig, the Kassel Dokfest, the Cottbus Film Festival, the Achtung Berlin Film Festival, the Pochen Biennale Symposium, Arsenal Berlin, the Kozzi Film Festival Zielona Góra and DocBuenosAires.
