Neil Young's songs form the centerpiece of this concert reading - played and sung live by Ludwig Blochberger. Navid Kermani's story about a young family whose newborn daughter only finds sleep with Neil Young's music unfolds into a musical-literary evening about memory, lost illusions, moments of happiness and the big questions of life. In a carefully abridged version, the actor combines Kermani's text with songs that are far more than just musical interludes: They pick up on motifs, carry on moods and give the narrative its own movement. The result is not a song recital with reading passages, but a dense interplay of literature and concert - personal, concentrated and with great musical presence.
