The self-imposed radio silence is now over. After festival summers from Hurricane to Highfield and gigs in, in front of and at clubs, AJZs and concert halls, the band has returned to the Elbe beach. Now Marie Curry, Johnny Mauser, Captain Gips and Spion Y are shaking the sand out of their shoes and jumping back where they belong: on stage!

Since its early days, hip hop has been inextricably linked to the desire to break out of constricted circumstances, to make oneself heard, to conquer space and to redefine it. With Neonschwarz, this drive is in every song, in every verse. And the band has been demonstrating since 2012 that this is exactly what can be brought to the stage at maximum hedonistic temperature. The light-heartedness of pop and the anti-attitude of punk are no more a contradiction here than political agitation and battlerap. On the contrary - the closer the poles come together, the more coherent the result. You can also train your backbone in the mosh pit or while crowdsurfing on a pineapple mattress.

The strength of Neonschwarz also lies in the unique band dynamic: Marie Curry has moved to the front row not only as a vocalist but also as a rapper and is completely state of the art both lyrically and technically. This makes it possible to compete and play ball with Johnny Mauser and Captain Gips, allowing Neonschwarz to appear as an exciting unit. Spion Y is, after all, a technically adept DJ and highly musical helmsman for whom love songs were written for a reason. Four characters with a common aspiration, who are full steam ahead in their left hooks against the lousy reality. And they do so with a joy for hooks, punchlines and interaction, which is effortless live. Don't miss it!
