New York Voices, USA (a cappella Festival)

Formed in (of course) New York in the mid-1980s, the New York Voices are absolute vocal jazz legends. They have shone live and on record with big bands as well as "solo", i.e. pure vocals, and have set standards for the scene. After 38 years of ensemble history, the quartet will now call it a day - but fortunately they will (finally!) take to the a cappella stage in Leipzig! They will present themselves at their best and once again delve deep into the jazz canon and their history - as a showcase "vocal big band" accompanied by a trio of piano, bass and drums. And the a cappella community can look forward to another iconic group and a genre highlight in festival history. Being there is everything!
