On December 2, 2025, journalist and author Norbert F. Pötzl presents his new book "Das Schattenreich des Alexander Schalck-Golodkowski" - a gripping reconstruction of the power structures, deals and secret networks in the GDR.

Alexander Schalck-Golodkowski was the key figure in the GDR's secret foreign trade network. To this day, he is the subject of a political thriller with many unanswered questions. For example: What connections existed between him and West German politicians, namely the then Minister of the Interior Wolfgang Schäuble? What promises did Schalck-Golodkowski receive before his escape? How did the Federal Intelligence Service show its appreciation for his revelations? Why did he get away virtually unpunished? The book provides answers and reconstructs the story behind the missing billions.
