An apartment is associated with the idea of a place of privacy. At the same time, housing is a radically political relationship. Because homes are built and rented out in order to make a profit or invest capital. In the anthology "Welches Zuhause", ten authors write short stories about oppressive housing conditions in Germany, one of the richest countries in the world, and describe the hardships and solidarity of those affected. The anthology is published by the nous-Kollektiv, a collective of authors founded in 2013 that advocates "confrontational literature" that addresses social realities and social conditions. In a reading and conversation, three of the contributors will discuss with Sebastian Friedrich the challenge of writing about housing under capitalism.
