Open Lab Abend: Routen in die Robotik — Ausprobieren, programmieren, Forschung entdecken

In the organizer's words:

What are robots actually? Machines that perform tasks for us? Smart helpers in everyday life? Or systems with which we will work ever more closely in the future? In this Open Lab evening, you will get to the bottom of these questions. You will discover current examples from research and practice, find out why people develop robots and try out for yourself how robotics works.

Together, you will take a look at where robots are already being used today, what problems they are supposed to solve and what ideas researchers are developing for the future. It's not just about technology, but also about our relationship with machines: What should robots be able to do? What tasks do we want them to do? And what could a good interaction between humans and machines look like?

In the practical part, you will get hands-on: you will solve creative challenges with Dash robots that can be controlled and programmed via an app. You will experience first-hand how you can set up complex processes with simple commands. You don't need any previous knowledge - just curiosity, a desire to try things out and the joy of discovering things together.

What is an Open Lab evening?

Every Thursday, things get creative in the lab. You will learn about methods such as design thinking or future storytelling, can try out 3D printers, laser cutters and robots and take a look behind the scenes of the Lab projects. There's something new every week.

Cooperation

We would like to thank the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA (Stuttgart) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Large Structures in Production Engineering IGP (Rostock) for their support and advice in the selection of technically suitable materials, which provide insights into the current state of research in the form of photo and video contributions.
