It feels like hardly a month goes by without London's jazz scene producing a new exceptional band. But in the summer of 2024, oreglo launched a formation that is already proving to be one of the most exciting voices of its generation.

Their debut EP "Not Real People" was released on Gilles Peterson's renowned Brownswood Recordings label and combines jazz, rock, hip-hop, reggae and psychedelia to create a sound that is fresh, unpredictable and absolutely unique. The fact that a tuba takes center stage - played by the virtuoso Teigan Hastings - gives the band an unmistakable touch. Together with c-sé (keys), Linus Barry (guitar) and Nicco Rocco (drums), Oreglo explores the possibilities of an open, cross-border musical language.

The four musicians came together through London's influential youth initiatives such as Tomorrow's Warriors or Kinetica Bloco - networks that have already launched the careers of greats such as Nubya Garcia, Moses Boyd or Ezra Collective. So it's no wonder that Oreglo received early support from Steve Lamacq, Jack Saunders, The 1975 and Ezra Collective.

With energetic jams and an impressive stage presence, Oreglo are regarded as the hottest candidate for the next big thing in British jazz. Before everyone finds out, there's a chance to see this exceptional band live in Berlin!
