Petit Pays – Kleines Land

Memories of a childhood in paradise stolen by war.

They steal mangoes from the neighbor's garden and jump naked from the 10-meter tower. They ponder the name of their gang, but not politics. And because they have French passports, they hardly notice that a rift has long been running through the country.
In "Petit Pays - Small Country", a paradisiacal childhood is gradually consumed by the civil war in Burundi in the 1990s. In this stage adaptation of the debut novel by French-based rapper Gaël Faye, the eternal and elusive destination of his dreams comes to life: His homeland Burundi.
