Since its inception, Gnod's musical development has been characterized by constant change, driven by the incessant need to discover new worlds of sound. Initially active as a shamanic drone ensemble with up to 15 members on stage at times, these early rituals shaped the core ideals that defined the group in their years of existence: community and trance-like repetition.

Their discography includes dozens of CD-Rs, cassettes and vinyl records on labels such as Rocket Recordings, Trensmat, Krokodilo (Blackest Ever Black) and their own label Tesla Tapes. Their restless yet organic need to transform their music into new spheres has left critics constantly searching for comparable references. Bands such as Hawkwind, Popul Vuh, Pan Sonic, Sunburned Hand of the Man and Pharaoh Sanders have been used as comparisons to describe their style. Gnod has historically never conformed to one genre, but has continued to expand their unique place in the independent music scene with each album. It is this dedication to the live stage that has made Gnod one of the UK's most celebrated live bands, earning them numerous tours and festival appearances across Europe. In an era of reunions that focus on maximizing profits and creating the perfect live version of their studio recordings, Gnod are a welcome exception. After the barely released and critically acclaimed epic "Infinity Machines", the band's current live line-up presents rousing, almost catastrophic protest music, whose militant appeal sends a strong signal against Cameron's austerity policies in the UK.

Gnod have given their name a completely new, brute edge that is as euphoric as it is nihilistic. It is a powerful testament to the group's spiritual center: a community that engages and respects its audience without ever conforming to their expectations. Instead, Gnod open a gateway to a sonic abyss and, guided with a sure hand, offer the opportunity to plunge headlong, body and soul, into a powerful new psychedelic vortex of possibilities.
