If You Catch My Drift is a screening of Mari Kalabegashvili's video work of the same name, which explores drifting culture in Tbilisi, Yerevan, Zagreb and Cairo. In a series of photographs of blurred night landscapes, portraits, cars and racetracks, the artist shifts the focus from the fleeting spectacle of speed to the urban spaces that the drivers transform into their private arenas. Kalabegashvili documents tracks on streets and buildings, creating a portrait of a community that infiltrates public space by treating it as modifiable as their cars. The screening will be followed by a Q&A.
