Politics of Being Heard | Ausstellung im Bärenzwinger Berlin

The group exhibition "Politics of Being Heard" is dedicated to questions of inclusion, accessibility and institutional responsibility.

The artistic positions of Katrin Bittl, Seo Hye Lee, Anika Krbetschek and Zorka Lednárová deal with barriers, participation and forms of care in various media. In video performances, Katrin Bittl works with self-staging and assistance situations to question body norms, accessibility and social hierarchies. Seo Hye Lee combines personal experiences of hearing loss with questions of accessibility, language and shared understanding in textile and video works.

In her multi-sensory spatial installation and outdoor work,Anika Krbetschek develops a multi-layered examination of care, psychiatric violence and the history of the bear kennel, combining sound, video, smell and materiality. In a sculpture and documentary photographs, Zorka Lednárová translates personal experiences with everyday barriers into spatial and physical restrictions for the audience in order to create a change of perspective and direct confrontation.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a supporting program that combines inclusive educational formats and artistic contributions. Among other things, an audio and tactile tour, text versions in simple language and a performative program are planned. Further program items will be announced in the course of the exhibition
