Potsdamer Tanztage 2026 – Nature of a Fall

In Nature of a Fall, Adi Boutrous focuses on the deepest contradiction of being human: the pull of destruction and at the same time the longing for shared harmony. Six dancers go through cycles of ascent and collapse. They climb each other like fragile constructions, only to fall again - being hurled, carried, resisting. Is renewal only possible through destruction, by abandoning old perceptions so that new ones can emerge?

Driven by great physical energy, the piece returns again and again to its starting point. Contemporary catastrophes and collective traumas are reflected in collective movement, as are gestures of solidarity and support. Between failure, resistance and joint creation, Nature of a Fall questions our ability to see and listen to each other - and to hope.
