Yuuf (Technicolour/UK) *live
Yuuf are coming to the Gretchen for an exclusive concert: Instrumental psychedelia with strong global influences - handpan, bass, guitar and drums interweave to create shimmering soundscapes with a meditative effect.
The British band Yuuf consists of Anthony Boatright on bass, Hugo Cottu on guitar, Andrin Haag on handpan and percussion and Oliver Overgaard on drums. The four band members all hail from different countries (France, Switzerland, Denmark and England) and draw on their cultural backgrounds when composing in their current home and founding location of London.
Yuuf naturally combines their diverse musical influences from around the world to form the sound of their dreamy, sun-drenched, rich and organic instrumental music. Listening to their records can put you in a meditative state, but listeners can also expect nothing but energy and joy at their live shows. The band is known for their dynamic performances that range from shimmering atmospherics to heavy, driving grooves that will have you dancing until the sun goes down.
The band's early days took them to prestigious stages in London, such as The Lexington, one of several sold-out DIY concerts in their hometown. An impressive YouTube live session for their debut EP "In The Sun", recorded in a mystical forest, currently has over 2 million organic views.
This beginning is firmly rooted in who they are as a band, musicians and circle of friends, ensuring that honesty, dedication, care and passion for their craft and art are always at the heart of their music.
Yuuf released their latest EP "Alma's Cove" on June 20th on Technicolour (Ninja Tune). Another EP will follow in October 2025.
On stage, the band manages to take the audience on an emotional journey. They will be touring European festivals in the summer before embarking on their debut tour of the USA in the fall, followed by Europe in December.
