Regretters - Marcus Lindeen: Documentary film about two men who underwent gender reassignment surgery and later reversed the step

Mikael and Orlando - two men in their 60s who meet in an open, very personal conversation. Both decided to undergo gender reassignment surgery at different stages of their lives and later chose to go back. They talk about transition and re-transition, doubts and identity. Mikael immediately regretted the operation, Orlando, one of Sweden's first trans people, now consciously lives beyond clear gender boundaries. The film sheds light on a taboo subject and poses fundamental questions about social norms.

REGRETTERS was awarded the Prix Europa (2010) and the Guldbagge Award (2011), screened at festivals worldwide, at MoMA New York and at the NCCA Moscow - and was also adapted as a play.
