A journey into the heart of music

In April 1945, shortly before the end of the war, the 80-year-old Richard Strauss completes his most personal work: a meditation on the incessant change of existence - and at the same time a deeply felt farewell to a perishing world.

METAMORPHOSEN unites 23 individual string voices in a densely woven song. In the unique atmosphere of the Zionskirche, we will explore the genesis of the work, follow the threads of the music together and then bring them together in a complete performance.
