With a lightness reminiscent of 60s pop art, Hannes Wesendonk plays with the forms of concrete poetry, pop lyrics and prose poems and confronts them with the present. In the tradition of Wolf Wondratschek, he loves the unimportant, the exaggerated, the ungracious. His poems tell of disappointed intellectuals, the taste of chips and cola, of the attempt to be unneurotically older than twenty.

Hannes Wesendonk, born in 1986, of German-Swiss origin, first came to prominence as the singer and songwriter of the Berlin band U3000. As an auteur filmmaker, he made the no-budget films U3000 - Tod einer Indieband (2018) and Erster Berliner Kunstverein e.V. (2021). Der Typ mit den getönten Gläsern is his first book of poetry. He lives in Berlin.
