Roland Klick is a legend, pretty much the only one of the last 40 years of German cinema. He made the psychedelic western DEADLOCK with Mario Adorf, and the death-addicted punk song WHITE STAR with Dennis Hopper. Klick made great, stirring cinema for the public - but after just six feature films, the great talent of German cinema had mysteriously maneuvered himself out of the game, and even four national film awards could not protect him from critics and colleagues of the "New German Cinema", who considered him too commercial. Klick teamed up with the up-and-coming producer Bernd Eichinger, and WIR KINDER VOM BAHNHOF ZOO was supposed to be their big hit. But everything turned out differently. Roland Klick was made an outsider. But he was also an uncompromising movie junkie who risked everything with every film and was always on the edge. In Sandra Prechtel's film, Klick shows himself in all his dazzling straightforwardness. Otto Sander remembers his first screen appearance in LUDWIG. Eva Mattes looks back on one of her most beautiful roles and talks about the shooting of SUPERMARKT. Hark Bohm remembers his brother Marquard, who became a star with DEADLOCK.
