🍿About the film: The Latin American coastal metropolis of Verona Beach is the scene of a merciless gang war between Montagues and Capulets. Romeo (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Juliet (Claire Danes), the youngest members of the feuding clans, fall in love at a masked ball. Without their parents' knowledge, the lovers plan to marry, hoping to end the eternal feud between the two houses. When Romeo kills Juliet's cousin during an argument, he is forced to flee Verona Beach. But in the meantime, Juliet is to be married to the influential Count Paris (Paul Rudd) at the insistence of her parents. In order to escape the wedding, she is given a potion by Father Laurence (Pete Postlethwaite) that temporarily puts her in a death-like state.
