Sam Greenfield turns jazz, funk and fusion into incredibly groovy and playful soundscapes with pop appeal.

Born in Philadelphia and now living in Brooklyn, Sam Greenfield is much more than just an outstanding saxophonist and bandleader: he has made a name for himself as a versatile multi-instrumentalist, composer and sought-after session musician. In addition to his collaborations with international stars such as Cory Wong, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Mariah Carey and Joss Stone, he has toured and worked in the studio around the world with artists such as Queen Latifah and Dave Koz. At the same time, he is firmly anchored in the modern fusion and prog scene and is part of projects such as Thank You Scientist.

His solo career took off rapidly from 2021, when he released several albums of his own within a short space of time, establishing his own independent artistic sound. The pandemic period marked an important turning point, during which Greenfield set up his own home studio and focused intensively on production and recording - a DIY approach that still characterizes his creative independence today.

Musically, Greenfield draws on a wide range of influences and combines technical virtuosity with stylistic openness. His works move confidently between jazz, funk, fusion and beyond and are always recognizable as Greenfield originals with his own signature. His live shows are characterized by energy, spontaneity, a love of experimentation and a seemingly effortless musical excellence - carried by driving grooves, precise horn lines and a sound that reaches the audience immediately.
