In the organizer's words:

Soccer culture didn't just make it from the stands of crowded stadiums to rap lyrics or catwalks during the European Championships. What is behind the phenomenon of "soccer and pop"? Why are more and more young people drawn to smoky soccer pubs? How can the language of sports journalism inspire us to write our own texts?

Soccer culture is also omnipresent away from the stands of crowded stadiums: hardly a rapper without a fan scarf as merch, hardly a fashion influencer without a blokette outfit. On three dates (soccer pub, Hertha home game, writing session) we will explore Berlin's soccer culture between stadium, fashion and music. The impressions flow into our own texts or social media content, presented at a final event.

Whether you're interested in soccer or pop culture, this workshop is for all students from our partner universities who already write or want to start!

Dates:

• 27.01.26, 19:00 - 22:00/ open end - opening evening in a real Berlin soccer pub,
• 01.02.26, (time to follow) - stadium visit at a Hertha BSC home game,
• 03.02.26, 17:00- 21:00 - Writing session in the rooms of the Kulturwerk
