Schwund "Lebendige Lügengebäude" Record Release Konzert

The times in which we live do not leave us untouched, and so the music on the new album LEBENDIGE LÜGENGEBÄUDE sounds less playful, almost stoic, more uncompromising than his previous releases (released on Nachschlag, among others). The Berlin-based synth punk musician has been active in the Berlin punk and wave underground in various formations for more than 10 years; in 2017-21 he played drums in the Berlin punk band MASKE, in 2019 he started the synth wave duo DAS DAS together with COSEY MUELLER, which released two records on DETRITI Records, in 2021 he founded the no wave / synth punk duo LOHN DER ANGST with whom the tape UNTERGANG VOM UNTERGANG was last released in 2024 on MANGEL.

Since 2015, with the release of the GEDANKENÜBERFALL EP, he has been playing live solo as SCHWUND with analog synthesizers and sometimes curious lyrics in German. His previous releases - with the exception of the 170-minute double tape NEUE GRÜTZE, released in 2017 - were strongly inspired by the early NDW, punk and cassette perpetrator scene of the early 80s. This also includes TECHNIK UND GEFÜHL, which was released on vinyl by PHANTOM Records in 2019.

SCHWUND released DIEEZER TÜBE in three parts in 2021-23 on his own label NACHSCHLAG, among others. He brought out the releases on over-recorded cassettes, filling the excess length of the tapes with sound collages consisting of field recordings and synth noise textures.

The new album LEBENDIGE LÜGENGEBÄUDE will be released on vinyl by MANGEL Records in November 2025. The sound is more repetitive and heavier, with influences of EBM and industrial, while the driving character is met with twisted synth melodies and electric funkyness. Interlaced lyrics, sometimes with a bizarre joke, mostly gloomy and sometimes warning - accompanied by driving beats, technoid sequences, this album is a briefing, witching hour, riot, crisis meeting.

The release concert is organized by BRETFORD and will take place together with the alien goth pop duo SPITPLAY and the MILK ME DJ team on November 20th in Berlin at PANKE.

SPITPLAY
The duo combines a mixture of Eurythmics, Sin with Sebastian and 80s black metal. Between pop and gore, their genre is best described as alien goth pop. Spitplay's first album Piepsmaster Plush Cake will be released on vinyl in 2025.

MILK ME Joshua Murphy and Catherine Elsässer operate as MILK ME, an artist booking and event curation agency. Their portfolio includes the female artists of the label aufnahme + wiedergabe as well as a selection of punk and bizarre acts. They were responsible for programming and booking at Urban Spree from 2016 to 2024. The duo also appear as selectors and perform hybrid live sets under the name MILK ME, such as on November 20 at Panke!
