Science Slam on Sunday

Science strikes...

Anyone can do a poetry slam: present the text, get the audience on your side, make them laugh if possible, and that's it! Of course, it's not that easy, but how much harder must it be for a physicist to present their doctoral thesis to people who want to be entertained? Doesn't it work? But yes! Because there are people who combine scientific expertise with entertainer qualities, and they make it big on this evening. Let's hope they become teachers...

In contrast to the Poetry Slam, all aids are allowed at the Science Slam: PowerPoint presentations, props or live experiments are very welcome. But here too, the audience decides who goes home as the winner.

Even though the focus here is on research, the scientific value of the presentation plays a subordinate role. Rather, the aim is to present the topic in an easily understandable and entertaining way and to show the audience what young scientists are working on in their laboratories and libraries.
