Secret Garden

In his works,Daniel Schwarz tells of life, transcendence and the power

power in nature.

Using pasty layers or areas of color, Daniel Schwarz creates natural landscapes, sections of landscapes or ecosystems that break up traditional compositional hierarchies of philosophical, cultural-scientific and geographically comprehensible concepts of landscape. Daniel Schwarz attributes the greatest form of freedom to nature.

In some cases, several landscape fragments are combined in one work, with implied breaks providing moments of tilt or stabilizing the overall structure. Despite the direct reference to landscape and nature, Daniel Schwarz's works cannot be assigned to the genre of pure and traditional landscape painting, but offer spaces for associations with defined basic moods or characteristics and feelings. They are reminiscent of dreams, in which creative processes bring forth new worlds - albeit rich in analogies to familiar ones.

As if by an invisible pull, the viewer finds himself in the landscape, is confronted with its habitat. Although these works give the impression of being a section of something larger, they are autonomous. In the works of Daniel Schwarz, worlds full of mysticism emerge, which tie in with the dreamy spheres of Marc Chagall or Odilon Redon, without quoting the content of their works. In artistic virtuosity, natural mysticism rises up, manifesting the breaking up of the viewer's perspective.

The works of Daniel Schwarz are represented in numerous collections, such as the Dr. Marko Collection, Graz, Austria, the Hasso Plattner Collection, Potsdam, the Kistefos Museum Collection, Norway and numerous private collections in Germany and abroad.

The Secret Garden exhibition is open from 3.9. to 14.9. Special opening hours apply during Berlin Art Week.
