Have you done voluntary service abroad and would like to take a critical look at global inequalities? Then this workshop is just right for you!
During this weekend, we will address the exciting and often ambivalent question: What does donating actually mean - and who does it really benefit?
We will look at the history of common donation practices, analyze power relations and discuss which images and narratives about the so-called Global South shape us.
A special focus will be on your personal experiences:
How does it feel to be asked for donations abroad? What inner conflicts arise? And how can we consciously deal with our own privileges?
In addition to individual perspectives, we will also take a look at structural issues:
How dependent are organizations on donations - and what solidarity-based alternatives are there to conventional donation models?
All of this takes place in an open, appreciative setting - with time for exchange, encounters and joint reflection.
