An extraordinary, intimate documentary about the cultural and historical value of the traditional dance, music and spiritual world of the Yup'ik people of Emmonak, Alaska. While the village elders prepare a potlatch, the ceremonial exchange of gifts with the neighboring village, they tell how the cultural awareness of the Yup'ik prevailed against a century of missionization and oppression.
