Short Monday: "Films by and with Bernhard Marsch"
Moderation: Felix Mende
Köln im Film e.V. and the SK Stiftung Kultur are showing this short film program in honour of Cologne filmmaker Bernhard Marsch (1962-2025). Marsch was a passionate cinephile - director, collector, curator and co-creator of Cologne's off-cinema scene, tirelessly committed to analog cinema and the legendary Cologne Film Club 813, which he co-founded. His films, often humorous and idiosyncratic miniatures, tell of freedom, contradiction and a deep love of life and cinema itself. Works such as "Hallelujah" or "Wohnhaft" bear witness to his unmistakable view of the absurd in everyday life.
This evening shows a selection of short films by and with Bernhard Marsch - full of charm, wit and undogmatic obstinacy. An invitation to get to know Bernhard Marsch (anew) - and to celebrate what remains.
The film series "Short Monday - Der Kurzfilm-Montag im Filmhaus Köln" is an initiative of the KFFK/Kurzfilmfestival Köln, the SK Stiftung Kultur and the Filmhaus Kino and is curated alternately by the three cooperation partners. The series, which takes place on the second Monday of each month, aims to give short film greater public visibility and a regular platform in Cologne.
Location: Filmhaus Köln, Maybachstraße 111, 50670 Cologne
