Opera gala for the 1st Advent

Sir Bryn Terfel and Pretty Yende are among the most sought-after opera stars in the world.

The Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel has received numerous awards, including two GRAMMY Awards for Best Classical Vocal Performance and Best Opera Recording. The opera star was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2017 for his services to music. In 2023, Sir Bryn Terfel sang at the coronation service in Westminster Abbey in London for King Charles III and at the coronation concert at Windsor Castle. The opera star was therefore the only artist to be given the honor of performing at both ceremonies.

The South African star soprano Pretty Yende is also an award-winner and is celebrated internationally by audiences and the press. "A voice that reaches to the stars", raves The Washington Post about her brilliant voice. And the London newspaper The Daily Telegraph writes enthusiastically: "With her diamond tone and radiant smile, the young South African soprano unfolds an incredible stage presence wherever she performs..." Like Sir Bryn Terfel, star soprano Pretty Yende also sang at the coronation service for King Charles III and was the first African solo artist to perform at the coronation of a British monarch.

For the 1st Advent, the opera stars will now present a festive opera gala together with the Würth Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of their chief conductor Claudio Vandelli. The Würth Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 2017 and is the resident orchestra of the Carmen Würth Forum. The renowned orchestra performs with important artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Elīna Garanča, Emmanuel Pahud, Hélène Grimaud, Khatia Buniatishvili, Rudolf Buchbinder and Cecilia Bartoli.
