A father (Sergi López) and his son arrive at a remote rave in the middle of the mountains of southern Morocco. They are looking for Mar, their daughter and sister, who disappeared months ago at one of these never-ending, sleepless parties. Surrounded by electronic music and a raw, unfamiliar sense of freedom, they keep showing their photo around. Hope fades, but they don't give up the search and follow a group of ravers to one last party in the desert. The deeper they venture into the blazing wilderness, the more the journey forces them to confront their own limits.

With SIRÂT, multi-award-winning director Oliver Laxe presents his most radical film to date. He leads his characters and the audience on a harrowing journey between life and death, between intoxication and revelation. A father searches for his missing daughter in the Moroccan desert - and finds a deeper truth about himself in the process. The film is a spiritual journey through pain, silence and ecstasy, carried by hypnotic 16mm images and a driving soundtrack by Kangding Ray. SIRÂT is cinema as a borderline experience - raw, intense and deeply human.
