The summer seminar in the beautiful gardens of the Stapelfeld Catholic Academy invites you to explore wood as a sculptural material. This material has a character of its own - malleable and unruly at the same time. To work with wood means to respond to the nature of the wood as well as to experience one's own possibilities and limits with the "counterpart" wood. Under the guidance of sculptor Sarah Hillebrecht, you will create your own individual wooden sculpture - according to your ideas and with professional guidance. Whether with a carving iron, chisel, handsaw, rasp, drill, acrylic paint ... choose the tools and workmanship according to your ideas and the requirements of your workpiece. Your instructor will teach you the basics of the various working techniques. The focus is always on the artistic process and manual work.

Everything is ready so that you can follow your own path to an original sculpture. The artist's individual corrections and the discussions in the group are particularly helpful. They provide you with a valuable outside perspective and open up new possibilities in terms of form and content. Working outdoors allows you to create large-format wooden sculptures.
