Riley is 13, has two best friends and not only has fun playing ice hockey, but also success. So much so that her coach invites the three of them to a training camp where they want to prove that they have what it takes to make the youth team. But on the evening before, of all days, turmoil breaks out in Riley's emotional control center with the impetuous arrival of unpredictable new emotions. And her equilibrium comes to an end for the time being.
In addition to the delightfully animated emotions such as joy, sorrow, fear, disgust and anger in the first film, the makers created a handful of other characters: doubt, envy, embarrassment and ennui. An alarm announces "Attention, puberty!" and the new emotions take over the control center in Riley's head.
