Soulport – Funk & Soul Night

In the organizer's words:

Funk & Soul Night presents: Label founder, multi-instrumentalist and singer Miles King, Soulport's first signing Elif Batman, backing singer of one of Germany's oldest blues bands together with the tightly recorded house band "The Upper Sides". Together they bring a revue format that honors tradition,
but never degenerates into a mere copy.

You can expect original songs with character, sounds with a message and performances that go deep. Funk grooves that get you moving, soul ballads with rough edges, plus modern perspectives and reworked role models, just as Sam & Dave or Carla Thomas would have wished for.

An evening dedicated to soul - raw like Sharon Jones, uncompromising like Charles Bradley, with a modern European twist.
