The family in which we grew up has had a decisive influence on us. Many of these influences can have a subconscious effect. A family constellation attempts to make unconscious patterns, entanglements and dynamics within a family system visible. The method is based on the assumption that family entanglements extend over time and generations and are partly responsible for our personal problems and conflicts. By arranging family members or significant issues in the room, these dynamics become visible and can be worked on.
How does this work in practice? What can the method achieve - and what not? And what does it actually mean to understand a family as a "system"?
Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez is a Berlin-based artist who works in the fields of sculpture, installation, sound and performance. In her research-oriented practice, she investigates how technological and social systems are anchored in bodies, materials and landscapes, often through processes of transformation and decay. In addition, she has completed training in somatic bodywork, hypnosis and systemic constellations. These practices add experiential and process-based dimensions to her artistic work and shape her understanding of embodiment, perception and relationship. She sees constellation work as an open, unfinished process - and emphasizes that the "system" in question does not have to be the family.
At the Humboldt Forum, Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez will answer your questions about family constellations. A consultation for everyone - free of charge, without an appointment or waiting time.
