Static Roots Festival 2026 - The 10th Anniversary Edition Chasing the shiver since 2016.

In July 2026, the Static Roots Festival in Oberhausen celebrates its big 10th anniversary! What started in 2016 out of a deep passion for handmade music and the desire to give something back has long since developed into an absolute insider tip and the only pure Americana festival in Germany. Celebrated by the international press (including LonesomeHighway.com) as one of the best small festivals in Europe, it is a magical place for "big heart music" away from the mainstream.

The Music & The Location Over two days, 12 hand-picked international acts will take to the stage at the Zentrum Altenberg - a former zinc industrial complex with a rugged Ruhr charm that provides the perfect backdrop for honest roots music. The musical spectrum ranges from intimate indie-folk harmonies, cosmic country and honky-tonk to rousing power pop and Tex-Mex cowpunk. There are no huge distances to the stage here; the festival thrives on its familiar living room atmosphere, where fans and bands celebrate at eye level.

Look Good. Do Good. (The charity idea) The Static Roots Festival is absolutely non-commercial. Every single euro raised through the sale of festival merchandise goes 100% directly to Médecins Sans Frontières. Over the past ten years, the community has already donated over €27,500 for global emergency aid.

The warm-up: The Welcome Night On Thursday, July 9, 2026, the festival invites you to the official Welcome Night at the Jugend- und Bürgerzentrum (JuBB) in Essen-Werden. Irish band The Southern Fold will be playing an exclusive album release party to get you in the mood for the big anniversary weekend (tickets for the Welcome Night are available separately).
