Stealing Sheep - The avant-pop rebels you should have heard long ago
Maybe you've come across Stealing Sheep by chance - perhaps their debut single "Shut Eye" has crept into your feed as a viral meme, somewhere in the strange depths of YouTube or TikTok. But if you've missed it so far, now is the time to catch up.
The three musicians Becky, Emily and Lucy hail from Liverpool and have been crafting their very own sound for over 15 years now - away from the mainstream, but with a loyal fan base from the gamer, cosplay and therian communities who celebrate their music with fan art and genuine devotion. Their self-proclaimed "visual pop" may never have topped the charts, but it has earned a loyal cult audience (shout out to all the 6-Music-Dads who have been with them since day one).
Now they're back with new music - and opening a new chapter. Produced by Joe Wills at Nan's House Studio (in the legendary Invisible Wind Factory venue), their new album fuses medieval electro vibes, rave pop, UK garage and PC music into a soundscape that is both enraptured and uncompromisingly DIY.
Stealing Sheep have always made their music for themselves first - but their latest tracks make it clear: it's time for the rest of us to finally catch up.
