The last few years have been remarkable for Alex Stephens aka Strawberry Guy. The Welsh indie-impressionist released his debut EP in 2019, followed by his debut album 'Sun Outside My Window' in 2021. Both works established him as a bold new talent creating unique music that ranges from 19th century classical music to 20th century golden era pop songwriting. Now he returns with his terrific new single "I'll Never Feel That Young Again". The song is Strawberry Guy's first new music since the release of his timeless hit single "Mrs Magic". Produced by Alex himself and mastered by Grammy winner Matt Colton (Arctic Monkeys, Little Simz, Tame Impala, Wet Leg), "I'll Never Feel That Young Again" is a cinematic, shimmering and nostalgic ode to days gone by. He can be seen live in Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin and Munich in September and October 2026!
When his track "Mrs Magic" unexpectedly became a viral hit on TikTok in the run-up to the release of his debut album, his success was unstoppable: He now has 11 million monthly listeners and over a billion streams. "To be honest, it took me quite by surprise," he says. "I wrote my last two albums when I was working as a cleaner. So it's fair to say that my life has kind of turned upside down." He now alternates his time between LA and Liverpool. "When I miss the sun, I go back there, and when I miss British culture, I come back here," he laughs.
While virality is often equated with fleeting superficiality in the age of social media, Strawberry Guy is a refreshing antidote to this narrative and proof that sometimes carefully composed songs can simply resonate on a profound and far-reaching level. He masterfully creates beautiful music that is delicate, fragile, intimate and at the same time stirring.
