🍿 About the movie: Maycomb County, Alabama, in the 1930s. Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck) leads a modest but carefree life with his children Jean Louise (Mary Badham) and Jem (Phillip Alford). When the black man Tom Robinson (Brock Peters) is accused of raping the white woman Mayella Ewell (Collin Wilcox Paxton), the event divides the town. Almost everyone immediately believes Tom is guilty, and with Atticus' loyalty to the black man when he takes over his defense, the lawyer makes many enemies. His children also clearly feel the rejection of the residents of Maycomb County. Both at school and on the street, they are exposed to open hostility and experience for the first time in their lives that bad things happen that even their father is helpless in the face of.
