How many people watched School of Rock at the movies in 2004 - the brothers Cole and Max Becker were inspired by the movie and quickly formed a band. The US-Americans SWMRS have since become a permanent fixture in the international punk rock scene.
punk rock scene. Together with two school friends, the four boys had a whole series of band names until they finally settled on "Emily's Army" and released the two albums "Don't Be a Dick" (2011) and "Lost at Seventeen" (2013) under this name. With success: among other things, they played twice on the legendary Vans Warped Tour. After Travis Neumann was replaced on bass by Sebastian Mueller, they renamed themselves one last time: SWMRS were born. They released their debut album under this name, "Drive North", in 2026. The band members were no longer kids and had perfected their style: Somewhere between vintage pop-punk and indie rock, they made a name for themselves particularly with their energetic concerts and played at renowned festivals such as Reading & Leeds, Riot Fest and Parklife and as support acts for the likes of Muse, Blink-182 and Cage the Elephant. In 2019, they released "Berkeley's on Fire", for which they were named "Best International Newcomer" at the prestigious Kerrang! Awards, for which they were honored. The Becker brothers then wanted to focus more on the foundation of the band - their songwriting skills as a duo. They also brought in their brother Cade Becker to play bass - SWMRS are now
a family in the closest sense. As a trio, they released their third album "Sonic Tonic" in 2023, before releasing their latest album "BECKER" at the end of 2024, which landed on many annual best lists. It has now been ten years since the release of "Drive North" - SWMRS want to celebrate this with their own anniversary tour. In these ten years, they have lost none of their youthful energy live - from mosh pits and crowd surfing to a grandiose stage show, SWMRS concerts have plenty to offer the audience. In spring 2026, they will finally bring this energy back to Germany to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album "Drive North".
