The Kiffness

In the organizer's words:

The Kiffness is David Scott and David Scott is The Kiffness, and actually the so-called cat collabos (not to be confused with Madsen collabos) are known worldwide anyway and we don't have to tell you anything new about the cat here. The South African (i.e. David Scott, but sometimes you say that for rhetorical reasons so that a text doesn't sound boring) was on a big tour through this country last year, and because that went so well and everyone involved wants to earn a bit more money, we're doing the same thing again, only bigger and more expensive. You know how it is. So The Kiffness is coming to the Columbiahalle in November with new material™ as well as original and exciting human and animal muckrakers

A brief history: Scott (i.e. David) started his musical career in 2011 - with beats and brother, traveling through Cape Town, so not cringe with guitar and world-weariness but instead with trumpet, keyboard, e-drums and a beat machine (plus times plus makes double plus, it's math!).

Around the mid-teens, this tralala resulted in success on the so-called "radio" (like Spotify, only more linear and with even more advertising) - then with Mathew Gold on vocals, Mvelo Shandu on bass, Raiven Hansmann on keys and Clem Carr on saxophone. All people who are still around in the Kiffness cosmos today, by the way.

This was followed by tours at home and abroad (that's shortened, so let's put it this way: everywhere), but it was during the Covid era that the first experiments with acoustic cat content were released to the YouTube public, and that's when the real breakthrough came, in terms of reach. The original press release uses the technical term PHÄNOMEN here, we wouldn't go quite that far, but in any case, THE KIFFNESS was suddenly a name that your parents didn't know before and maybe a little afterwards.

What we're getting at: come to the Columbiahalle, because it's cold and warm outside in November, David Scott makes a relaxed, cool (!) sound, and maybe there'll even be a few surprises (we honestly don't know which ones yet, but there's still a bit of time). In short: Meow!
